Wondering if there are surfable waves someplace you've never visited? Or have you had an injury and want to compare experiences? Do it here!

Well I've had 2 weeks in Bali with a couple of days still to go.
Happy with my decision to come here, but it's all about knowing the spots and options here.
First week was classic wet season westerly winds, so based myself on the east coast and made the most of a solid swell. A Pom staying at the same place showed me around to a couple of spots new to me. Missed a couple of days due to a virus which wiped me out but otherwise scored great waves. Early bird gets the worm, but crowds weren't an issue for the 2nd surf most days.

The weather then decided to be unseasonable and revert to dry season SE winds which I noticed on the forecast for the week ahead so shifted my arse to the west coast of the Bukit which worked out perfectly. Have scored good waves daily, never less than 3-4 foot and most of the time it's been glass or close to it so it's just been a matter of finding the spot that works best for the swell size. Have managed that without having to surf Ulus which is really the only place that's crowded.
Have not seen a drop of rain since arriving, even at night, some rainy season
Four foot of swell tomorrow then a jump up for my last day, couldn't ask for more. :-D-:

How did your boards go MM. Which ones did you take?

Brought the7' Byrne tuflite, think I only tried it once or twice, felt hard to turn but that's probably unfair as didn't give it a chance to get used to it.
And the 6' 7" Miller F-skate which is supposedly only for up to 4 foot, but I've stuck with it and it seems to make everything easy even on bigger waves. Really had a chance to feel the board out now that my fitness has improved and I've found my feet. Just in time to come home :-D-:
The thing with the Miller is having to have plenty of speed up in order to use my weight to really bury the tail and rail, it being a wide plan shape and buoyant, but fcuk it's fast

Dawn patrol paid off this morning, some thumping sets coming through 1.5 head high, nudging 2 at times. Dead glass so a bit sectiony and no long rides but a fcuken great session to end the trip, still only 5 out when I came in.
