Assignment Summary:

The volunteer will build the capacity of the host organisation and its staff in a number of ways. The volunteer will work on expanding the network of surfing and surf lifesaving and instructor training programs across Fiji. They will also deliver national lifeguard and lifeguard instructor training programs. In addition the volunteer will assist with establishing systems, programs and resources to support the introduction of joint surfing and lifesaving activity in Fiji. The volunteer will develop a surfing and surf life saving club by establishing a local committee to develop the club, recruit and train junior and senior lifeguards and facilitate the creation of a strong membership base. These activities and objectives will strengthen the FSA and enable the organisation to empower youth through their participation in sport whilst also decreasing the drowning rate in Fiji.
