Freestanding surfboard rack - the cactus rack

Post by Cactusrack » Tue Feb 12, 2013 9:07 am

Hi all,

Hope this is the right forum to post this, but just wanted to let everyone know about a surfboard rack our team is making out of the Northern beaches here in Sydney. We are really excited about peoples response to it so far and would love your feedback or comments (good or bad!)

In a nutshell, our main features are:

Modular: Add or subtract storage for boards at any time

Freestanding: Move this in, around and out of your apartment/home at any time. Also, no drilling into walls.

Handmade from bamboo: We think this material looks great and adds to the high-end furniture finish. Bamboo is a great looking material that gives the rack a quality and luxurious finish. In addition, it is sustainably grown and won't yellow over time.

Quality materials: From stainless steel fasteners to the bamboo ply, our product is made to last.

Visual appeal: The rack has been designed with aesthetics in mind and should be considered a furniture piece. It will stand on its own as a centrepiece to proudly showcase your board quiver. There are many cheaper options out in the market, but if style, functionality and quality is what you are after, then this is the product for you!

All of our products come flat packed with instructions and can be assembled using an Allen key (Ikea style)

you can find out more about our product by visiting the website:

Again any feedback would be great,

Thanks.

Simon.

I built a wall rack a few years ago using some dowel and a couple of pieces of treated pine and it cost me 4/5's of fcuk all. To make that into a free-standing unit wouldn't cost that much more either

So having said that while the design looks pretty nice its waaaaay too expensive for me but, you never know, plenty of surfers out there with a lot of money to spend.
