Best Beer?

Post by SDC » Sun Nov 19, 2006 5:10 pm

After going a bit off topic with the Kreepiest Krawler on another thread, and sampling a few ales in my time. I pose this question to all the amber fluid connoisseur's out there.

Before you start, KK being the well travelled man that he is, has come up with a couple of fine examples in the Ridgeway Bitter (UK) and the Celebrator Dopplebock (Ger).

I like my Tooheys, but have recently been enjoying beers from the Grand Ridge Brewery, which are 100% No Chemicals, No Preservatives and 100% Australian Owned.

Looks like a Realsurf world beer drinking trip will be required to get to the bottom of this problem. 8)

There's a lot of good drops around the world. They usually taste best where they're brewed, so it's not possible to do a proper taste test. Anyway there's just too many good ones for me to have a favourite.

James Squire IPA and Guinness are the house brews chez Boogaloo.

That's pure gold Infected.

I was in the Maldives (Tari Village - Pasta Point) about 12 years ago, and the only beer option we had was called Castle, it was expensive (like everything else over there) and tasted average, but being the only beer available, it was a case of drink it or leave it. They wanted to charge us US$60.00 for a slab of 330mL cans - Thieves.

I still have a penchant for the odd Tooheys Old which tends gets the tastebuds going.

Ireland (Limerick) has produced many great things, the Toohey bro’s one of em.

Icy cold Tooheys Dry is a summer favourite, clean and mellow.

Coopers is lovely

All time favourite Speight’s dark ale

Beer is good

the beer i'm having when just having a beer is tooheys new
no headaches the next morning...

vb makes me chronically hungover

bitburger = nice taste, no bloated feeling & no hangover whatsoever

coopers pale ale is very nice, also the coopers with the green label as well, name escapes me...

stouts: boddington stout & Old

Cafferies is a nice creamy headed cold weather beer

corona is the worst tasting catspiss i've ever tasted - and i've tasted some bad catspiss in my time...namely heineken

becks is the beer to drink to impress your pooofter mates - bad headache in the morn though

grolsch is good to buy to re-use the bottle with the re-sealable lid afterwards

asahi is a nice japanese beer, to accompany a nice japanese feed and as a saki chaser

and is it emu bitter fronm the west - i seriously can't remember that night...but nice drop...
