Great stuff, maxi 8)

The long reef pic is probably the pick for me- got just the right moment there. You're right about the light- looks like the sun was pretty low, straight on the face of the wave. Have you done any PP on the pic (other than cropping)?

It's commercial. If you can earn some dough it can help feed your habit.

Who's going to pay for a photo of your eye.

I think you'll find Boozer was saying, find out who the surfer is and see if he want to buy a print...

Thanks for the comments / complements guys.

Bookster - I'd like to say I hardly touched them up ... but there was a bit of contrast and sharpening done. You know the deal...

Rockin' Ron - best complement I've got so far 8) My beef with surf photography is that can it be pretty obvious. I'd rather take a shot that is suggestive of what might happen next rather than what has already been ....

loco4olas - I use a Canon 20D and a 100-400mm lens. Yep - there is EXIF data but being new to the game I don't pay much attention to that. Most were at 1/1000, 1/1250 or 1/800 sec ... stuffed if I know what the various f values were. Any specific shot you're interested in?

Here's another batch to mess with your bandwidth.

Image
DY - 4:37pm

Image
N.Curly - 5:30pm

Image
Long Reef - 6:34pm - very deceptive ... mostly close outs but a few walls to be found

Image
N. Curly - 6:52pm

Image
N. Curly - 5:12pm

.... might do a few more later. Enjoy.

Good shots maxi.

Did anyone else notice that the best waves (especially shots 1 and 3) were being ridden on mini mals?

Interesting considering the concurrent anti mini-mal "flame" topic doing the rounds.

I'm pretty sure I know the guy who's your pick of the week, which blows me away because I only know a handful of Sydney crew.

He's a plumber (at Manly hospital I think) and his nickname is Zam. He's a mate of a mate who went on a boat trip with us to New Cal. One hell waterman, got a style smoother than a babies bum soaked in JW Blue label.

That's no mini mal FFS. Zam shapes his own boards, all based on fish designs, notice there's no logos. Seen him surf them in 8ft hollow waves with only one arm operational due to a fergucked shoulder.

PM me if you want me to chase him up. Great photos max
