its hard not to be influenced by the surf media, but I try really hard to just appreciate them for their surfing, not their personalities and competitive attitudes... kinda like some poor hollywood actor getting outed for screwing around on his wife. seems unfair that it should effect their career but I guess that's unfortunately the game they play.

Ah, Mr Hound - you beat me to it.
7 world titles and a bit of hidey-slidey with fit horn-bag Giselle - what a sh*t life he has.
That gets 11 out of 10 in my book.
Bet his celebration party is really crap too......

Phil macca has had a pretty big year, but still no win. He will be one to look out for during the triple crown. he had a good result there last year.

I know its a long shot, but I think HOG might have something to say about that! I think he has had his best year ever on the tour. A few more solid performances next year and he might be a little closer to the top!

The thing with Slats has always been that quite apart from what anyone can do and quite apart from what a thruster does to someones style. Even old farts have consistently thought that Slats is the epitomy of good surfing.

Kelly has done very well for himself. It seems like he has everything, except a stable family life! lets not forget he has a daughter...how often do you hear about her! His dad was an alcoholic and has died of cancer and his mum is a bit loopy apparently..
Guess that can explain his dedication to surfing

It's great Kelly won. I'm sure he's hungry enough to get the title next year. Good luck to him. He really does deserve it!
Andy still has many great years ahead. Bruce will be pushing him far next year too.

I'm putting in a word for Fanning next year, he's got the competitive spirit and determination (much like what drove AI to his crowns), I think this year he's had some time to feel around after the injury.......plus shut down by the 10x world champion freak show that is Kelly & AI
But as long as these guys keep putting on a great show......do we really care who wins??? (Occ 06....take back the oldest to win a world title crown)
Occy for 60 and still on the tour
