Mate, in my limited knowledge...
can you watch VCD format on your computer. if so you will be able to save it to your harddrive, when doing so you will have to select a program to save it with and to run it in the future.
I think it works
i just wanna see the footage so i hope it does.
cheers

wanto, you're referring to VHS footage, but Clif is saying its VCD which basically means Video on a CD (Video Compact Disc).
Clif, VCD always have an MPEGAV directory containing the footage. Files are called AVSEQnn.DAT where nn is a sequence number. The DAT files are actually MPEG format and can be viewed in Windows Media Player or any client that supports MPEG playback. Just use 'Open With', or copy the files to your hard drive and rename them to blah.mpg. If you want to convert them to Quicktime its very easy to do with Premiere or any video conversion software that supports that particular conversion.
*** If you are in fact referring to VHS footage then ignore my drivvle and refer back to wanto's post
