Nah, it's not live.

But it's pretty interesting technology-the premiuim version would be great-but I'm not paying us$400.00 to access it.

Longy!

Good site, hey?

I've been all over the world with it-resolution on the standard version isn't great when close-the premium us$400.00 version is the one-maybe with the RS fundrasier we could have Don subscribe? ;-)

exceedingly cool find Matt!

I'm gonna try out the beta and if it's good, RealSurf will definitely spend some of the fundraiser income on it.

My brain is spinning with the possibilities even as we speak...

You're right that it isn't real time (hardly surprising!!!). Google says the imagery may be up to 3 years old.

We won't be able to use it to pinpoint the latest banks, but points and reefs... that's another story... what a phenomenal resource!

CENSORED BY POPULAR DEMAND

Here's a brain teaser for ya! There's a XXXXXX spot in this XXXXX that a waitress in a nearby town told me about. The pic is in XXXX... anybody know what the XXXXX's name is and where it is in the picture?

An amazing resource!!!!

I betcha nobody gets it Wanto. Send me an PM with your guess and I'll tell if you're right. People who don't know it won't be able to pick the spot anyway. And people who do know it, well, they're a lost cause.

Actually, you raise an interesting point... when does a secret spot stop being a secret spot?

When it's mentioned in a local surf guide? When it's mentioned in a national surf guide? When it appears on an Internet site?

And what test should be applied on RealSurf to determine if a secret spot is really a secret spot?

I'm not trying to be smart here. I really want the feedback because this isn't going to stop coming up as an issue... especially with tools like this... (I've spent over an hour already looking at coastlines I've always wondered about in NZ, California (!), New Caledonia and Aust of course.... )
