It's overkill. If you want a skateboard to feel more "surf like" just loosen the trucks.
If you just want something to cruise around on I have an earthwings mini glider deck in good vgc you can have for $40 (retails new for $160) and all you'd need is a pair of Indy 169 trucks, wheels and bearings, that you could probably also find cheap on gumtree etc

Yeah it's mind blowing. Concrete is no joke. 51 years old and charging like that is mental

I've got a 32 inch deck with sidewinder trucks, goes great on flats and slight hills. My youngest daughter loves to skate so trying to find an excuse. Thanks for offer and tip HM will look at that and get back to you, appreciate the offer.

He is unreal, a guy I know met him a few years ago and reckons he is a great bloke to boot, unlike Alva who was a cretin.

Carver skateboards vs Smoothstar?
Opinions (other than price related)?

Love Smoothstar thruster unit but not boards - I use mine on a 40in board, Indys, biggish wheels and for me it goes alright - bowls, street and parks. Nothing like a conventional skateboard though
