Helping a mate take a boat up to the Cenny Coast unfortunately so I'll have to take a rain check. Definitely up for it over the next couple of weekends though.

skating's the only cross-training type thing for surfing that keeps me entertained. everything else bores me.

I've got one of these, it is pretty bouncy but you're a big unit so that'd smooth things out.
Soft wheels so good on rough roads.
Carves really well.

Very bad on hills.

dervish's are Ok, but u could do better. i'd stay clear of anything that has a camber (rise in the deck from nose to tail) as they're too bouncy.

instead go for a flat-deck and something with at least a bit of stiffness and resistance to it. it'll bite and carve harder, and also wont throw you off onto the concrete like the dervish will at any moderate speed.

something like this... 38 inch, pintail, flat, hard-edged wheels (bite and carve)
Jay Adams Z Flex Longboard - $150

^^ it's in nowra. so close enuff to you. i'd go and strongarm him down to $100 cash.

Nice find Hatcnam - Anna works locally in a great skate and snowboard shop. They do a great job tuning for the winter season as well. She has fitted my daughter out with a Landyachtz, I keep going back for stickers.....

for anyone interest, for wives, g'friends, daughters, etc.. there's a girls skateboarding session on tomorrow at 3pm. meet up at basement skate st leonards. they typically hit up a local multi-level spiral carpark, bomb down it, slides etc... longboard style skating more-so
