fairly thin crowd. good thing is the bowl is in greenhills, a few klms away from nearest train station, which i reckon has helped a lot in term of reduced vandalism, and hooligans etc. mostly all skaters, very few scooter kids etc.

lots of young (and older) surfer/skaters also. there's one dude that does these grinds, that are like a slash-grind. meaning, he doesn't wait til his trucks hit the coping, instead when he's about two feet below the lip he un-weights himself and hurls his back-foot straight at the coping in the steepest and tallest section of the bowl. pretty fking gnarly to watch. looks exactly like a big forehand snap. tried to get some pics but was way too blurry.

Took my son to a skate park just after some light rain this morning. Add the moisture to polished concrete and a big slam for me.

Hobbling around like I'm 90 years old now, bruised hip and shoulder.

Yeah. Concrete is no joke. Week before last I slammed onto my tailbone. Am still feeling tender. Fell from the vert coping til nearly the bottom of the transition. I turned 180 degree but the board turned 270. Went for a grind but threw the tail out like it was a backhand snap. Hardest thing to adapt to is remembering that you're on concrete, not water - i.e.; you can't push through it.

Channels. Have you seen the mona vale park since it's been done up?

I've been a couple of times. My eldest is right into skating so I bought a board again and skate with him rather than sit on the side. Mainly cruising over the ramps etc. I need to get some pads before I hit the more vert stuff, had a few near misses treating the turns like surfing and forgetting there are no fins or rails to stop over rotation.

Mona is a great set up but it's just so crowded all of the time. Bato Bay park up near The Entrance is the best we have seen.

Mainly hit the small setup at Manly, today was a small setup at Cromer.

Drive past mona park most days. Looks to be about 80% scooter riders. And packed.
