Did you see the two get cleaned up on the back jump on Monday......very ugly. It's all a matter of judgement, sometimes it's not so much nuts as just a waste of time, the chances are you will wait longer than it takes to paddle out!

Dey can be useful but a lotta the time de're a wank. Saw a mate almost die doin one in a monster swell off bronte which was a bit off puttin.

tough call. Based on my experience, nuts. I semi -trashed a brand new Simon Anderson '7"4 there a few years ago Amazing that my instinct was to put my body between the board and the rocks when a sneaky one popped up and swept me off my feet while waiting for a break. Still got the scars.....

I'd recommend the rock off. Much less of a paddle. I managed to get out on both monday and wednesday but it took me a lot longer to pick the gap than it usually would. I think if you're patient and make sure you go between waves it's less hectic than duck-diving 12ft face sets!

BB - I was out there on Monday as I said & saw the two guys get cleaned up. They made it out OK but it would have been a pretty stressful jump.

...apart from the bloody nose and the damaged egos. It was fun on Monday, some nice one's if you could pick them, yesterday was OK too but breaking much wider so not as hollow. It looked pretty crazy this morning, lots of paddling and not many waves would be my prediction....it might mellow this afternoon for the high tide though!

yep was out yesterday morning too from daybreak to about 0830. some good rides to be had, but hard a hard time taking the speed off after the drop! At about 8 everyone else went in leaving me and a couple of others to it as it cleaned up. Nice to get a break from the crowd.

reminds me of this morning at manly, the rock off for the southern beach break. This little kid just hops over these rocks and jumps in, perfect timing. I got some nice (i hope) pics of today, will post soon as the batteries are charged.

people at one mile point sometimes take 15minz to get half way across the rocks to rock off when u could paddle out in the rip in 1min

yeah it good to watch in big swells, last swell (month or so ago) guy tries to rock off, yet the current sucks him right back toward the beach side and he hits that rock that sticks out. So after that effort, he still had to paddle through the waves breaking on the beach.

theres this reef and u can paddle out on the rock and jump off through there this guy jumps off and he was paddling next second his is stuck on this rock he had to wait for the water come back but it gave him a shit fright

Try making sense.. the full stop can be your friend!

As for point rock off.. First rock is easier on the bigger swells in my opinion.. just gotta wait for a nice little lull.

Hi Tahn I found it that way too just had to watch out for that bit steel in the old pool wall
