Price to go out for food on the North Shore of Oahu in April?

I can get a cheap flight, cheap car rental and would likely camp and stay with a friend for a a decent portion of the trip... but seeing as I'd be coming from Canada and our dollar is pretty weak right now I'm concerned that I'd be absolutely savaged by the price of restaurants, cafes and eateries.
Is that a legit concern?

I was there 2 years ago. Just stay away from the touristy places. Eat where the locals eat. Poke bowls cost bugger all and are loaded with goodies.

Just go eat a slap up meal at any nice restaurant and when they give you the bill just say “but my Uncle Eddie said I could eat here for free”.
