Snapper Quik Pro 2018

As BA indicated on the other thread, the banks aren't right. The wave flattens out pretty quickly and it's only an hour off low tide. It's a shame because it's a pretty decent swell.

Those banks should improve over the next few days, but if the predicted swell arrives then it might all go pear shaped.

Media penalised for dropping in ... karma's a bitch.

It’s definitely improving on the lower tide.

The bank is actually 30-50% better than it was 3 days ago and there is still lots of sand feeding it from the sand bypass system.

Just needs to fill in and groom the second half of the wave.

Italo lit it up. Good to see the WSL doesn’t discriminate against dwarves.

And Owen and Tyler look normal, but geez, Mikey looks like the product of a brother/sister relationship.

So there's a paddle out protest against the skis planned for the final, is that right?

Looks pretty shite at the moment. Funny, when it's all groomed these days and it looks perfect I get amazed but when it's ordinary it just looks like the hundreds of times I've surfed it over years but just ten times more crowded.

Sean Doherty's piece on Snapper's last (for now) hurrah as season opener is a good read.

Its fucking hectic. Fanning actually gave up at one point in his heat, he was paddling and going nowhere. Had priority too, but ended up catching a little inside runner back to the ski.

Whats the deal with Kelly's no-show ?

Sitting out rd 1 to rehab injury is the official line. If pulls out of rd 2, Michael February will surf.

If the WSL weren't so invested in Kelly and his pool, they'd tell him to get fcuked.

Yeah, you’d wonder if someone like Jeremy Flores did the same thing they’d be so accomodating.
