The Great Griffin Colapinto has gone down. What a shame! He was good. Really, really good. And that was his first ever event. What a guy.

The Great Griffin just gave a classic post-heat interview! He said that wave he got three barrels on might have been the best wave of his life. And he said he felt weird with all these people watching him. :)

Shearers head will be exploding with all this action.*

I'm pretty sure Steve's hat is not a Paddington Bear hat. I'm going to see if I can dig up a picture of him in it for confirmation. Just a sec.

I haven't had a drop yet today. I'm just excited because this contest's so good. In half an hour I'll go and pick up a six-pack to drink and watch the finals.

Mum emailed me some old documents about my great-great grandfather Charles Lewis who was caretaker of Kirra Surf Life Saving Club and said I can consider myself a kind of Kirra local. I'm chuffed no end. Never even surfed the place. Should do one day.

looking at the maps, the wind is gonna go to crap over the next day and a big and the swell drop dramatically.

makes the decision to burn a coupla hours in the middle of the day here today a little baffling? they no doubt had their reasons. but still
