Good month for Baja Sur - Pacific West Coast

Hello,

So when is on average a good time to bank on a 1-2 week trip to Baja in the Todos Santos area? I went for a week mid Novemeber a few years ago and this surf was very small and heavily blown out all day, every day. Bad luck?

It seems on average the area either gets a lot of on shore wind, or not much swell...

G'day Mate. Sorry you haven't got any replies yet but most of us Ozzie Bushrangers only surf in Papua and wrestle crocs.

That's too far; I can fly 4 hours direct to Mexico... away from my cold ass ocean.

Kulharin, don't expect any useful surf reports here.
Food and restaurant reviews, tard comps, Taylor Swift sightings, yoga moves, weight and waist measurements, soccer yeah, surf info, not so much.
My son's going to Baja this summer, just fcuking go.
And tell us what you get.
We're up to here with TayTay.
You can take this as a cry for help.

A guy I surf with in Bali has been spending 9 months a year a bit north of Porto Escondido for the last 6 years. I see him for around 3 months each year, just after the bali wet season. He is stoked with everthing about the place - surf, food, people cost of living - he highly recommends it.

Offy, he's in a plane FFS, why stop at Baja, just keep flyin'.

If my mate prefers it to the bukit it must be fcukin' good - he's a good enough surfer to get any waves he takes a liking to on the bukit, and he raves about it. Mainly rights though, that's a big drawback.

You're asking for a pie duel cranky.
I've got a neighbour who goes to Puerto Escondido every year. I've been to Rio Nexpa farther north. Yeah
Lots of waves down that way.

This is a matter of solemn honour between gentlemen.

I generally thought most of Baja was light point surf....apart from Todos Santos of course. Scorpion Bay features in a few mal movies.

Exactly. The pie must be worthy of this solemn honour.

We'll just have to wait for the for the white chocolate cheese cake that becomes available on the eleventh day of chistmas

He doesn't know shit about Baja but at least he's learned how to be a man in a piefight.
Realsurf's work is done here.

Not New Year's in North Carolina yet, but the evening's looking promising, good food, wine (hi iggs), friends.

Happy 2018 Realsurf retards. I'm looking forward to another great year of Realsurf shoot the curl action.

Well the appeal of Baja is very cheap direct flights; 4.5 hours and boom I'm in Mexico, no fuss, no lay overs.

I spent a week there one November but was injured at the time and couldn't surf very well... couple that with the surf being small and very blown out by 10am to sunset every day. I did get in the water at Cerritos, La Pastora and San Perdito . Beautiful area that I'd like to spend some more time in and explore. I think I may bank on Novemeber again next year for two weeks.

Where abouts north of Puerto Escondido? I have a buddy who goes to La Ticla every year and seems to really enjoy it... Though in terms of direct flights the options are Cabo or Puerto Vallarta... I did stay around Punta Mita and Sayulita as well but found it to be a bit over developed compared and busy to pacific Baja, at least north of Cabo San Lucas.

k all the good shit is south of Puerto in sth swell season

re Ensenada etc, it's all about winter, ie Dec-Feb, there are some good to (in one case) excellent right points and a bunch of beachies etc between there and the US border, you just gotta watch the forecast.

4-5hrs would fly you to Hawaii, why torture yourself with Baja?
