I reckon he's great but his claims are on par with the worst of the Brazilians.
Also reckon Jeremy's claim got him across the line.
If it wasn't a buzzer beater I reckon it would have gone less.

That water angle of Jeremy's 9.37 in the semi is pretty insane.

Jeremy won, everyone else lost except JJF who is the world champ again by semi default.

He he.

I think most would be happy if JJF won for the next 5-10 years

Yeah...but the more I think about it, the more I imagine the WSL is gutted at not being on the spot

all that money and effort and they missed it.

Good article.
For me, I don't think the WSL need worry too much about not having a close up of JJF's celebration at the time. Most viewers yearn for the top level comp to retain some of the funky natural vibe we like surfing to possess. We don't want everything to be a meticulously curated media and sponsor moment. We didn't really need JJF to immediately have a generic stilted camera spot with Rosy telling us he is relieved and happy.

At the moment the champ is getting drenched in champagne in his friends' yard. Yeah, the greatest arena in the sport just happens to be just past the gate of the Johnsons.
It was cool. It was North Shore.

Yeah great analysis, as usual.

This guy says it all in the comments:

JJF epitomizes Hawaiian style. Smooth yet radical, unassuming yet dominating, calm, quiet and deeply respectful, never needs to claim, always keeping his mana in check and of course, loved by all. Hawaiians are proud and humbled to call JJF our own homegrown - the man with stellar athletic ability and top shelf character.

I still don't think Ethan got the scores cowing to leave the water.mpared to JJF's in that heat.

Imagine if Gab and Jon met and Gabs played the priority the way he did against Kelly against him on the North Shore. Wouldn't want to leave the water.

Interesting hypothetical Buddy

Let's get some keen minds on it. See what they think of such an incident
