Well it seems as if Johnny's gonna have to do it the hard way. There is a chance Pipe will be shit, and by "shit" I mean classic December during a La Nina event -- one or two OK days and the rest wonky shit with a bad sandbar.
But the seedings should put JJF and Gabriel on the same side of the draw. Which means a possible semi-final for a world title.
Given Gabriel's and Johnny's opposing fan bases, it might just remind the League of the value of a crowd.

I read Shearer's comments about the gap in both ard skills and soft skills between the top few contenders and everyone else.
I dont get how only Gabby, JJF, Toledo and maybe one or 2 others can alley oop. There appears little commitment from the tour surfers to improve their repertoires (or use them).

It's the purple-ness of the aubergines in October that determines the swell for pipe in December, everyone knows that. Get with the programme. Examine your aubergines.
