Whatever happened to ...

Post by jam_freefall » Tue Mar 29, 2005 5:30 pm

Thought I might start up a thread to see if anybody wants to know what happened to someone or can provide some answers.

Mine is - what ever happened to Nicky Wood? Might test a few memories, but he was a young, promising surfer from Newcastle and I think he was the youngest male to win a tour event???? This would have to be going back 15 years or so. Anybody know?

I'm pretty sure that he got quite ill in his late teens just about the time he was going to rip the pro circuit apart. Lord knows if he would have ultimately done that, but everyone who saw him surf seems to think he was a world champion in the making.

I think the story was that he recovered his health somewhat but lost the drive to go back to competitive surfing. After that, who knows.

I can't tell whether the other posts to this are just throwing something out there or if he really did lose the plot. Maybe he did.

There but for the grace of god ......

Poor bugger's probably hiding in shame after his sister's 15 minutes of inglorious fame in one of reality TV's finer moments-Bardot.
