Yeah Legion. I'm loathe to criticise anyone who surfs Padang though.

I've got a few good wipeouts to put up next

Most waves weren't made that session - bumpy conditions and/or sectioning too fast

Nothing too spectacular this trip. I surfed all the good days, took all these pics while waiting on the wind

So Cranked, you sit out all these tradewind sessions because your board doesn't like the bump?

They aren't the trades. Rode the the bumps if I was bored, but there was always 6 or more hours of non wind affected waves on any given day.

Its me that doesn't like the bumps, not much difference, for me anyway, between poly and sandwich

?????????????? Many, many personal testimonies disagree with that statement, including your man NIck Carroll.

Can't say i didn't try cranked. All those pics i put up of the Brazilian carving it up on a mini mal didn't get a single bite from Steve. Perhaps he found them too confronting

Maybe Cranked is more of a front foot surfer than most, which might alleviate some non-poly issues.

Maybe cranked just prefers surftechs, simple as that?

No doubt, the sheer horror of it probably unsettled him, apoplectic, so he went back to the more comforting criticism of STs.

I rode that 6'6 Delta epoxy sandwich in a very choppy beach break this morning, its even stiffer than a surftech. The step deck makes it hard to get a good grip of the rail for duck diving too, reckon they should have faded it out earlier in the nose.

I'm definitely a back foot surfer, but I don't know how front footedness would help. To my mind it seems it would be better to weight the back foot because that's where the board is more narrow and there might even be some V, but its not something I've ever consciously tried to do in chop.

I think chop is only a problem at speed. As far as I know water resistance goes up as the cube of the speed (in air its as the square of speed), so it rapidly becomes a big problem as you increase your speed

I think you're right cranked. He realises the Brazzo mini mal surfer he bagged out actually outclasses him. It must be a real blow :(
