Redback Revolution boards - any good?

Post by chrisb » Mon Nov 30, 2015 8:43 am

A local board shop is selling Redback Revolution boards, Quicksticks from $280, mals from $300 to $400. Thinking of buying a 9' mal. Dimensions 9 x 22.5 x 2.75. I weigh 88kgs and would describe myself as low-level intermediate. I have ridden shorties when younger but ride mals these days, namely a 9' that is showing its age.

Any of you guys tried out the Redbacks, especially the mals and if so are they worth the money :?: obviously popouts but the prices seem OK to me.

If you want a soft top they are reasonable.

But soft tops are limiting.

Natural necessity down in gerringong have these sunova boards that I think are made for them. They're reasonably cheap ( 8'er is 950 ), and while they probably aren't berts latest tech, I'd imagine they'd be light and pretty strong.

Or look for a second handed as said. Second hand longboards are usually a bargain, and should last at least a few years. Kind of looking out for one myself.

Torq boards have taken off in the UK, with some good feedback. Only $550 for a new one at NN ($650 for a 9ft one)

Thanks guys. I might just keep my old mal until it falls apart. An extra mal is a bit too much of an indulgence.
