The advantage in riding a mal in those conditions has largely evaporated with the rise of high volume boatds.
Exactly. The modern style longboards ( bit of both ) are much better in beachies. There's a few spots here but the old guys are sour old cnunts who are extremely offended that you're in their spot ( they're boomers so they're cnunnts anyway )

Yep, my 5'4" JD catches the same gutless peelers as my old 9'1" but once up and going is much more lively and loose.

Still, I'm on the hunt for a shorter longboard. Staring at weekend warrior status at the moment and need a board for all conditions.

get an eggy bonzer. they're ugly but they work in almost everything, so I've been told.

or a 7 foot something stubby outline with widowmaker fin cluster
You buying? I'm all for it :). Definately interested in a bonzer egg, funding is an issue though lol. I've got a 7'er. Insane board. Short longboard basically with a 5 fin setup. Looking for an 8-9'er to round things out. Missing the trim n glide. 9' is a little too long for steeper beachies but 8'ers are much harder to find. 9'1"s bloody everywhere haha

Apparently "Dave from Bondi" reckons you'll "pull roots" if you buy his horrible looking piece of shit

I read "you will definitely root more chicks"

Dave the Rave from Bondi. I knew a cockney chippy from Bondi once, kept my distance as much as possible but always seen to bump into him in a random places. He was a bit loud and a bit of a geeza and best avoided.

Good cheap summer board for a bigger or older surfer.

$200 neg. Sydney. Tri-fin fish by Noosa Longboards in VGC. 6'6 X 22 X 3

It's a steal. It'd retail for over a grand.

Tempting. Would like to see the rocker. Had a ball on my Fishcuit which was similar dimensions but the lack of rocker ment it was a hit and miss affair on any take off.
Went like the clappers though.
