For those interested, here are some stats from the DPI tagging program.
(Non target species include grey nurse, various whalers, rays, and a mako)
(The Coffs and Forster programs started in Jul-Aug 17)

They are all juvey/sub-adults. I think the largest was caught in Evans around the 4m mark.

There was another incident at Avoca this afternoon - young doctor got bit on the shoulder - reported as a minor incident. Happened off the lagoon - not sure if it’s open at the moment, Terrigal lagoon is open. A 3m white was spotted around the area afterward, but I doubt it was the same animal.

Just an exploratory nip.

Reputedly, juvenile GWs are at their most dangerous when they're trying to figure out what their food sources actually are.

it looked more like a frisky southern fin tuna tried to nuzzle up to him, than it did a shark.

My brother caught a tuna like that once. He was standing on a beach casting soft plastics to try and get a flattie for breakfast when a Mack tuna beached itself at his feet chasing some baitfish and started humping his leg.
