The second time, married/kids/mortgage I changed every lock at home, at work, installed monitored security systems and kept an assortment of things under the bed.

you coulda just bought a german shepherd ... great with kids, but they just can't deal with strangers in their space around the ones they love.


i got my mum & dad one a few years when they went to install the house alarm. they still coughed up $$ for the alarm, but now with the dog, they don't use it.

neighbours over the years on both sides and across the road have all been broken into, but not mum n dad's place.

i made them name it bodhi from pointbreak too, for a little ironical fun.

I've lived, worked and surfed in dy for 15 years now and never had a moment's drama. there's the odd nefarious type getting around of course but dy is below average for just about all the most relevant crime statistics you could care to name (& has been for some time).

For longy: you can just park up the top (full visibility of southbound traffic) and just walk down to the beach. Dodge the parking ticket fees also.

Yes sunstroke, that's the one I use. And a guy asked me about one for a phone the other day. But he's an on-call cardiac surgeon so I reckon he gets a pass. Guy just wants a surf but his job is slightly critical.
