Re: DY Point tonight
Last night was perfect conditions again, but lack of swell.
Hopefully it will pick up for tomorrow night

Look forward to hearing back . Hopefully the swell spikes hard overnight as I've taken the day off for it.

Re: DY Point tonight
Eden buoy has picked up to 2-4 metres, but the period is an abysmal 7 seconds atm.

Re: DY Point tonight
Small waves there this morning. 2ft maybe.
Re: DY Point tonight
i put out a bigger wake last night under that moon.
but i did notice the increase in size around 2 am with whitewater highlighted by it around north head and dobroyd.
i should get some sleep but the beach looked alright on sunrise.

Re: DY Point tonight
Yeah the swell is straight South. Running parallel and heading due north, marching straight past.BA wrote:Small waves there this morning. 2ft maybe.
Down south coast now scoping this spot I've been keeping watch on for a while.
It's sorta working, but what little South swell is hitting it is mostly just glancing off the side of it.
Might have to just stick with the sure bets today.

Eden buoy has just peaked in the last couple of hours, hopefully that spike will head north

Re: DY Point tonight
per sunstroke, apparently there's enough light off the pool ? (along with clear skies, and sufficient moon etc)
Re: DY Point tonight
Also closer to shore if anything goes wrong.

Hatchy & ChrisB nailed it
As much the rush of surfing somewhere more challenging & open to more swell like voodoo or shark island, I think I'll leave that box unticked lol.
If anyone can think of another spot that is reasonably well lit up & close to shore, challenging but not hellman crazy feel free to suggest it here
The only limitation with DY is that there needs to be at least a couple of metres of south swell.
I might go for a looksee tonight to see if there is any swell + how much moonlight there is.

Apparently Bondi off icebergs is also doable.
But I'd be hard pressed wanting to surf there even in broad daylight, ever.
