Awesome! Let's keep a watch on it then.

I'm guessing that with more East in the swell (rather than straight South) it won't have to be hitting double overhead plus to start working. Perhaps if there's a lot of East in the swell, then it will start working at even a little overhead ?

My dee why sessions I think I could count on one hand. So it would be good to hit it again.

Yeah it can be kinda fickle.

South swells (the best direction for length of ride) have to be minimum 3 metres average & 5 metres peak with 10+ seconds period.

East swells make the wave close out between first rock (out the front of the pool) & suck up (outside the point), however, if the period is good, you still get a good length ride.

North east swells are more short & punchy making 1st rock unsurfable & suck up really dredge.

It may not be the best wave in Sydney, but it's my homie where I first started surfing as a kid, so it does have sentimental value to me. Plus surfers & boogers can both tear it to shreds when its on.

Here's what happened one day when Coops & I shared a bomb!

So if there is any reasonable south / south east sized swell from after this weekend probably until the end of the following weekend, we can give it a shot if ya keen :-D-:

Thanks man!

Yep - Mr Cooper is about to land in front of me & we're both about to get barrelled across the point :-)

I think that was a Maxi photo - but Butts was there that day - he would be able to confirm :-)

Looking at the SN forecast, Monday, Wednesday & Friday next week might be a goer :-)

Ok. Will keep a watch on it, and default to your better judgment (local knowledge) closer to then

Sydney MHL bouy is off the air :-(

Don't think the swell is big enough for tonight, but maybe later in the week based upon latest BOM forecast map.

Yeah maybe Friday ? Based on my limited understanding of dee why point, it's all looking "too south - too small" for much to happen at the moment

I'm going to go down & check it out tonight if the sky is clear & will report back :-)

Wednesday could be alright based upon the new SN update that just came out. If the swell period gets up to 20 seconds even a couple of feet might just be enough!

Friday should definitely be big enough if the forecast comes through as expected.

Well the conditions were ideal (moon was out, wind was light and the lights were on), but the swell wasn't playing ball.

Looks like the period which had climbed up earlier dropped off significantly.

Waves were just starting to break (1ft) as the tide was dropping but not worth it.

Photos could be taken from the front of the pool, or on the rocks.

I got some video from last time I was out there.
