Hard to know how many points that aerial is worth in the context.
If there was no aerial and the wave chose not to spit, it was possibly a 6.5. The barrel was not particularly long and he was never deep.

It's just the wrong moment. You've got these incredible surfers smashing Pipe and Backdoor, world title on the line etc etc...then a dead heat with two QS level girls, being guided in the lineup by older male coaches.
