Would you have given some pointers to the person inappropriately positioned on the board if they were visually appealing?

Are they the same waves that Cranked surfed for ten years and never had a memorable surf?

@steve you might like this:

Of particular interest, Josh Cattlin's wipeout reel just before 22 min including one crazy wave.
That late air drop at 22.15 :shock:

To be fair, cranked was strung out on smack, hardly in a position to form an accurate opinion.

Nah. I was not focused on surfing at all. "Nothing memorable" was in response to Steve's query re surfing. As I said, I got them all windsurfing - sometimes more 10' plus waves in a single day, (including one 25 footer, and that was fcuking memorable) than I would ever get surfing.

1968 to 1977 (17 to 26), the glory years for drug experimentation. Surfers/hippies were at its centre, travelling in asia and bringing stuff back.

We were lied to about weed and LSD and didn't believe addiction was a thing as there were initially no addicts in our subcultures. The tragedy to come unfolded slowly during those years.

You can't get a physical addiction to LSD, or die from an overdose on it.
Well, you might be able to, but nobody has found the lethal dose yet. It's above 2000 'trips' taken at once, though.

Psychological addiction is a whole 'nother thing.

Yep, I started surfing in 1969. By 74 it was open slather on the Nth Coast SE Queensland Border. I kind of side stepped a bit of it going to College in Newcastle. I'd come home at the end of term and more crazy shite would have escalated to the next level. When smack really got rolling it cut a swathe through the Gold Coast. Plus of course guys getting busted importing stuff and doing time in Asian Jails.

Then Inner City Sydney in the early eighties was pretty hard core drug wise. I would say 10% of the people I knew in bands didn't have a major drug problem.
