Did you ever wonder why Surfer approached you to write that Derek Hynd profile? I recommended you. They asked me and I said you’d do a better job. I have the emails. They liked your story but couldn’t deal with you. They stamped your papers, like most of the other titles you listed above.

I then chipped in 50 bucks of my own coin as part of your crowdfunding campaign on this very site to send you to Tahiti. I even helped organise you free accommodation. Again I have the emails. I wanted you to be there. That was all. I liked your writing. But Christ, didn’t that bite me on the arse. Every time you now you write an Andy story you bang on about your afternoon surf with him from that trip, how you saw the shadow of death hanging over him etc, and how Carroll and I are complicit in it all. I’m sure you’ve seen the latest SW.

I remember the Hynd story and i thank you for that. I think ive thanked you in person .
According to Hynd he also asked i write it so that double whammy must have helped get it over the line. The editor seemed happy enough with it, readers seemed to like it .
I also thank and thanked you for what you did re Tahiti.

Id be happy to talk to you in person about it but im not laying awake at night losing sleep about it, it was a throwaway comment on a forum, one i make from time to time and probs will again.

I think the observations ive made about AI and the surf media seem fair enough but id expect you have a different view. From the feedback i got a lot of people were happy to see those issues ventilated.

Dont know how that makes everything or anything difficult for you. Hasnt stopped you doing your thing in any way shape or form. Nor would i want it to. You and Carroll are the top dogs , i aim up.
