Do you notice much flex difference between the 3/2 and the 4/3? This is not a set up, this is an actual question from an actual contributor.

fcuk yeah.

But the suits are very different in their construction and quality too.

full workout getting in and out of the 4/3.

I find it hard to duckdive in a 4/3.the buoyancy difference is noticeable.
Also way less knee flexibility.

Edit to point out this was when living in California and surfing in February.

I’ve been wearing a 4/3 in near 20 degree water too steve. It is a vintage rip curl tho, so not bursting with warmth. Gotta say, boots really are shit. This extended spell of warm weather we’ve had has made me massively appreciate surfing barefoot. As for which type, they’re all horrible. My current ones are the cheapest o’neills and they have no tensioning straps or anything and are no different to the fancy ones in terms of performance and unpleasantness. Oh and yeah, buy them in your size

Anyone ridden a parmenter board before? Every single board on that site looks and sounds insane.

Neal Purchase 2+1's have a lot of Parmenter influence in them. He basically gave Purch the inspiration.

Dave’s blurb on single fins and the 2+1 set up, with their feel and function is articulated better than anywhere else I’ve read. Instantly relatable.

Yes the deep six channel over the back foot for drive, the diamond tail for projection/pivot, the planshape and distribution of foam - it looks insane for small to mid sized surf of any kind really. A 6”4 would be the go

And turbo acceleration off a bottom turn. You’d cover some serious ground

Hatchman I'll try and track down the clip of Neal P Jr and Snr designing a 2+1 based on a Dave Parmenter Widow Makers. It then has some footage of Neal riding it (may even be Lennox) with him humbly saying "these boards are great for powerful waves, like powerful waves"

Might even be Kidmans Glass Love. Which has some nice 2+1 riding in NZ.
