Yep. I know you’re right. Without a doubt.

But those overhead groundswell days, walled up and grinding hard down the line on the inside bowl. That daggy looking 80’s thruster of mine with the belly channels lights up like a fkn torch in those conditions. It feels unstoppable.

I’ll be interested to hear how your mates board holds up. Performance, I’m sure it’s the tits. But longevity, wear and tear. Has he had it long?

he just got back from some proper indo juice, late season swell.

it's fine.

just don't get one off the rack. order it, even make some changes to suit you even more and get it delivered from CI's sydney factory. get the s cloth if you're worried about breaking/ denting it. I can't praise those guys enough. they're fast and reliable,

I believe CI here use surfblanks and rhino laminating ?

Correct me if needed.

But if that’s the case then I’ve got no qualms about quality.

That twinny I got about a year ago was using the above and had s-cloth. Light enough board and pretty damn tough for a PU.

I hear they use three glassing options here ... In house, Glass Lab and Rhino Glass.

I have seen CI boards with labels from the last two glassers. Mine doesn't have a label so I assume it was done in house.

You pay the same for a custom as you do for an off the rack. Three layers of S-cloth set me back an extra $100 last year.

With almost 65kg of raw power, 3 layers is a necessity

from memory i got my last two 710 (no fins) ... i don't think they charged me for the s-cloth either time. the first one cost me 8-hunge, but i'm not sure if i got fins or why it was dearer. it was a few years ago now.

For any surftec tuflite lovers (vomit) natural necessity are having a huge sale on now getting rid of a shit tonne of those filthy old clinkers dirt cheap.

https://www.naturalnecessity.com.au/pag ... oards-sale

Remember going in there a few years ago and being horrified by the sheer amount of those things they had in stock.

Got into a discussion (semi debate) with some young surfy staff trying to push a sale of a TL board onto me. At the time I’d already had the opportunity to try a TL out (borrowed a mates old afterburner) and I gave some honest feedback about the negative aspects of the technology (too stiff, reactive,’and jittery etc) but he wasn’t having a bar of it, wrinkled brow, flicking his g@y looking long blonde hair side to side and trying to out vibe me or some shit. Jesus Christ.

Their sale on now is testament to how much TL sucks balls.

Thanks Iggy.

I checked it out but there was only one McCoy: 7’6 McCoy Nugget was $1099 NOW $899.

That was hardly a bargain and not a size I wanted. A Laser Zap or a 6'6 Nugget, or the 7'11 single would have been tempting, but only at the right price.

i gave my TL away to a semi-mate recently. had it been a true friend, i wouldn't have done such a lowly thing
