But he's making 60' Peahi look easier than 6' Honolua.

Yes it is boo.
Kai did about a 15 foot air drop from the lip on one monster.

Alana Blanchard the unlikely giant killer. Steph wins her 7th.

Honolua is nearly unwatchable. Dodging more barrels than me.

I'm stunned at how quickly these guys get comfortable in surf that size despite not having surfed the place in since Feb or March.

Freaks.

Alana's 7.6 that ended Lakey's title run was a well-surfed wave.

With Sally Fitzgibbons' Keramas tube and her three tubes today, and her evident enjoyment of them, I am giving Sally my Tubehound Award. Not saying she is necessarily the best tuberider in the group, but she gets them and she likes them. That's a Tubehound!

Ah yeah Carissa Moore

I am still kind of reeling from watching those heats at Peahi this morning. The intensity was overwhelming, at least to me. The way the women had to step into that building swell, then that one men’s heat as the swell scaled up to killer range and people rode waves nobody should have ridden. Twiggy’s big one was completely off the hook. I was glued to it, thinking holy shit, if they don’t call this, someone could die. Then they called it and Kai Lenny put on his tow clinic, just fcuken staggering, and weirdly it all seemed to go under the radar, did anyone notice? The WSL foergot about it and pumped Steph’s win, and a few people made fun of Snips’s decision to pull it, as if he’d called off a CT because it was 15 foot. Nobody said a word about Keala Kennelly, not a fcuken word.

All the talk I've heard is about Kai Lenny and the above photo of Keala Kennelly.

We've lost WSL since we moved over to NBN. Generally annoying.

The Peahi conditions were beyond all the paddlers, but there was no shortage of ridiculous guts from the women, particularly Keala. She's great and a really good surfer. But, to put it in context, this was Keala's highest scoring wave of the day to win the title.
A 2.97.

There's heaps of coverage on todays smorgasbord of surfing, but 7 world titles is arguably the most newsworthy. Kai Lenny's lunacy and Keala Kennelly massive balls just happened to be overshadowed by Steph Gilmore's achievement.
