I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Does the over 70 award have a more raked fin or is that an optical illusion?

It's just the camera angle.
I noticed it too.

That was an interesting read. They need the thoughtful approach they used with Seawall at Collaroy.

Agree, good read Legion.

As Steve would attest to, the underlying bathymetry out from the reef and how this steers the swell into the reef would have a major impact to the performance of the reef itself.

Legion, laying down the gauntlet
I reckon they’d both be right on it. Most long-term surfers should be fairly over it. Surprises the shit out of me how many don’t have a clue

It’s an easy concept. One can’t not notice that a 2 foot (imperial) wave might gently tumble whereas a 6 foot wave passing over the same depth will stand up and throw.

The Palmy reef isn’t anything to write home about. But it has created an environment for better banks. The same as Narrowneck. No one surfs the “artificial reef” but there’s always decent sand around that area.
