Not a lot happening at the ‘poo. The comp hasn’t had death barrels for a while now.

Call this a surfing forum? Ask for suggestions on vacuum cleaners, smart phones, bikes, tyres, mortgages etc. and the opinions flow like shit from someone with giardia, but ask about an actual surf-related product and all you cnuts dry up like a bottle of whiskey around beanpole. Or are you all too embarrassed to admit that you wear booties in Sydney?

Buy a size smaller than your normal shoe size.

aj, I posted yesterday, but it disappeared when I hit submit
Current pair are RC - the thinnest Flashbombs and they're holding up well. Previous were O'Neil top of the range and I got 3 winters out if 'em. Also good. I reckon top of the range is the only way to go
Up there, maybe reef boots? Designed for flush through, but definitely a bit warmer around the toes than bare feet
If you go full boots prepare yourself for the stink. Your car will smell like an incontinent homeless person has taken up residence

Most of the bootie boys i know down the coast wear o'neill. Split toe of course. The little toggle thing at the back of the heel that tensions the ankle string is the only thing that ever seems to fcuk up over time. I think the newer models have improved the design.

Did you miss the official rebranding, AJ?

Sole on my O'Neil reef boots thin and good, but yeah, probably no good for meaningful warmth

And agree with Legion re sizing - you want a firm fit, but too small is fcuked. The tension strap across the foot serves its purpose well

I fcuken answered straight away. Don't get a size smaller. I tried that and ended up with bound feet like those women in the national geographics. Don't get reef booties, they tend to have thick soles and are not warm so it's the worst of both worlds. I don't leave mine in the car any more than I do my wetsuit.

You will blow a lot of waves as you learn to get used to them.
I took just two waves.
Once in a while I get caught but it's maybe once every few months.
I started wearing them to avoid infected small rock cuts but with my current nerve damage they help give a bit more stability.
Due for a new pair. Got a hole under the big toe.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

no, no, no, no AJ.

Go barefoot a bit and toughen them up.
This comes from a guy that wears a hood and a 3/2 in 20c water. Beware AJ.

The tightness over the top of the instep is critical as it affects blood flow.

Booties suck. I'd be trying to improve my circulation before wearing them in Sydney water.

A 4/3 in your neck of the woods? Your credibility is severely undermined, sir.
