I like watching some guys ride thrusters, Buddy, but that typical comp whack a tight little turn on every little section style leaves me cold. Also hate watching guys having to constantly pump to make it through barrels on thrusters.

I agree.
Adam Robbo surfs thrusters to perfection.

I'm thinking a good paddling bonzer for when it's big and off its tits.
nothing wrong with being bonzer curious.

I've been loving my single fin log when it's small and it got me thinking a single when it's big could be immense. But the bonzer gives that little bit more hold I'm guessing.

Hold is good.

Don't they help initiate the turn when you lean, especially if you're not on the tail? Like a 1+2 does.
I would love to try either a bonzer or widowmaker in the 6'6 to 7'0 range for 6-8ft Lennox.
But i also want to try a Phil Myers 10 channel for that too.
Probably not gonna happen anytime soon.

Yeah, i think I'm more keen to do a bonzer in about a 6'8" more than channel bottom.

I feel like i explored the shit outta channel bottoms in indo and hawaii back in the late 90's early 00's.

There's a beefy 7'6 six channel freeflight single fin in near immaculate condition for only $650 on the Gold Coast if you're after a paddle gun for monster swells.

Thanks, you the gumtree guru!
Got plenty of boards that I never use already. Haven't used my 7'8 since I've been here for 2.5 years. Was away for the June swell :( .
