Except for the other nut on the deck.
all my fin box fins (single fins and quads) from the 70s/early 80s have had the nut and bolt at the rear. is this some longboard/shortboard (aka kneeboard) division?
No just seem to be the other way now. Nuts
The older kneeboards I have 70sish rear nut! trying to recall my very first fin system 1969????????????? took it to Hawaii. Kraft moment
Jaffa, I'm opinionated, and I'm sometimes right. So?

Thanks for the ride reports Steve and Jaffa.
Steve I have an 8" fin with the NACA 16-012 foil here which is a beauty. Spitfire fins have less tip area than regular fins so going a tad deeper is a good idea.
The range of fins (so far) is listed here:
http://roystuart.myshopify.com/
Coming up next are:
1) Gullwings based on McCoy's design, with and without the bumpy leading edge, these will have an Eppler168 foil.
2) Lokbox bases for all the side fins ( we already have Futures bases). and BLEF thruster sets, here's one of the side fin options, available in 4 and 8 degree cant:
3) Spitfire fins on a longer base and no cutaway, with the forward planshape of the original spitfire wing. These will be in sizes up to 10" to accomodate logs.
4) Tunnel fins.

Don't recon those wax scrapers will work too good, all my boards have convex decks.
When it gets to this level of self important stupidity I lose interest.

'Tracks' just asked for an article but all they want to talk about is money, so I told them to ask something interesting.

It's all legit and the article request was from Kirk Owers... but keep your blinkers on to stay in the comfort zone Kayu.
Regarding fins: we can now print up to 10" fins and have an fcs tabbed option.
Also Gull wing fins based on McCoy's, with either BLEF or smooth leading edges. The foil will be a vast improvement too, McCoy's is slab like.

Yeah, c'mon Roy, spill the beans ... did you sell a board for some serious coin, or what?
Or, is Kayu on the money and this was a great marketing hoax to drive some interest to you and maybe sell some fins?

There had been no hoax.
The shaper of the year thing was totally truthful, I didn't say that I was surfermag shaper of the year or anything like that, I said that I was olosurfer ( that was us ) shaper of the year, just a joke that I'd voted for myself.
I don't know of any other candidates for having pulled a hoax either.
The info on fins wasn't meant for you. obviously there are other people looking at this thread.
