Good stuff Steve! If you need somewhere to crash there is a pretty tasty couch at my place :)

Plenty of coopers in the fridge at all times...

Really?

Another brick in the wall of private companies commandeering public space for their own profit.

Makes me so glad we resisted the Rip Curl Search event at Lennox.

Thank you for your email via the Environment and Heritage Info line 31 March 2014 regarding a surfing event planned for Kamay Botany National Park.

Under the authority of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974, the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) can under lease or licence allow exclusive use of an area of the park. The surf event to which you refer has been provided exclusive use of an area to ensure appropriate crowd management and the safety of both competitors and invited quests.

I am pleased to inform you that access to the majority of Kamay Botany Bay National Park including the Visitor Centre and Commemoration Flat area remain open to the general public on the day of the event.

I trust this information assists you with your enquiry.

Yours sincerely
Adrian Johnstone
