The mal rider that sits further out than everyone and takes every wave, on an ordinary day. Fair enough if it's sizable and he's good enough to pick the eyes out of every set, but not if it's slop and we're all out there wanting to have a few waves before dark. I was about to give this bloke an earful after an after-work paddle out one day, but decided it wasn't worth my time and just stared at him as he paddled back out. Passive aggression is healthy, right?

I'm old and slow and ride a shorty when I can, but when the conditions are not suited I will pull out the mal and wage war on the fcukkers who snaked, paddled inside etc. and never gave me a second glance. If that annoys you and them...good. The most annoying surfer is really the one who wants to be yur mate and then takes all yur waves.

Pack grommets. You're out surfing a bank in the arvo with only a couple of people out. 3:30 hits and about 30 stickered up and bright wetty wearing groms hit the bank like some kind of hyperactive swarm, catching and attacking everything that moves. Most of em rip, or are at least competent surfers, and they often have a coach or someone videoing them. Surf ruined when these little rats show up.

Definitely the sheep. The one's who paddle out and sit right beside you when there's peaks everywhere. Then you paddle to a different peak, and they slowly drift down to that one.

I'm with you. Extra length, tuflite and outa my way. Mals too restricting though.
I'm happy to be courteous in the surf and show proper etiquette but not if I'm the only sucker who does.
I will also point at the white water if someone keeps paddling for the shoulder. I must really annoy some people.
