dunno. this is a hard contest to call.
I'd put up Fanning, Jordy Smith or Slater at this point.

but I could add Wilson, Taj and Medina to the list of possibles.
I'll revise my list if I watch any heats.

I already just want to say thanks to the commentary team. Just much smoother even if not as showy. Buddha's adding something nice and calm with the beach work, he's smart and friendly and not afraid of the situation.

With the feel good factor ramped up to 11 everyones a winner.....except maybe the old guy with the ducks and the usually people who sift through the beach sand looking for round flat pebbles to be glued on water features to make your homes seem relaxed.

So apparently JJF did the biggest air anyone has ever seen in winning a cracking heat over Seabass, but unfortunately the Oakley site is a piece of shite so there is no video.

Are you sure it isn't sponsored by the mob that makes the genuine Oakleys you can buy on the beach in Kuta?

ive got to say mr boo i personally thought the landing to arching bottom turn - claim then fade was mind boggling.
i have nothing to offer in regards jjf's air only to say what else could you score it, 9.1 ?

because now the air people will be on high alert 3-)

informative commentary.
heading in the right direction on day1.

no fluff just going with what they know.
a few seconds silence in the right moment only seems to improve on those waves ridden that just need watching.

Perhaps I am a little underwhelmed after the action at cloudbreak..

completely agree, Cloudbreak was ice cream from Huie. we've been blesssed with cloudbreak 2012/2013 , the poo code red day. im still watching footage of these days.

Kerama's is a different contest and i think if it gets another 2foot bigger the excitement factor may go up.
If you compare what you've seen this past 2 days in Bali with Cloudbreak you will be disappointed in the adrenalin factor but its contest surfing and ya carnt hold 10events at cloudbreak/pipe/poo/portugal and on it goes.

Interesting to see that Zietz and JJF meet each other again in Rd3

I'm more into pro surfing this year than I've been before, but I think Keramas is a pretty average setup.
For mine it is all about the second move where there is that bend in the wave, but everyone is going big for 1st and 3rd moves.

Melling was unlucky or didn't surf the contest well, thought he surfed well.

That's good. So close to Fiji, I'm finding it very uncompelling. How's the Bukit been for the past 3 days?
