Surf Movies?
My two boys (8 and 6 years old) have started really getting into watching the occasional surf flick.
Their favourite is currently Julian Wilsons "Scratching the Surface", which despite the constant spinny bloody aerial stuff they hit every second wave, is actually quite well shot and entertaining.
Has anyone got any recommendations for other surf movies that I should downloa......err, purchase for them?

I agree with the last three on the list (especially SIL) but haven't seen the others so can't comment.Rico wrote:Castles in the Sky & Sipping Jetstreams

Also I recommend both incarnations of the "Endless Summer" although 6 & 8 year olds would probably relate more to #2 being made in the '90's.
"Biggest Wednesday" for all of you to watch and "Big Wednesday" for father because of adult themes.

Bombora - not necessarily a film but a doco. In short it's brilliant, I've got the DVD watched it quite a few times already
Bustin Down the Door - another good one
Step Into Liquid - pretty good
Endless Summer is good for a bit of a nostalgia trip
Wanderjahr - Ben Margieson DVD, really good
I got Modern Collective for an Xmas present but I didn't like it, mainly because that frantic, ping-pong style of surfing - with a few airs thrown in for good measure, doesn't grab me

Would love to see the outcome of one of these guys dropping in on the likes of Garcia on the tour -
"Anyone who stands in my way will die"
could make for some very amusing viewing!!!
Tour needs some Papuans, they'll sort out the men from the boys real quick

No mention of M.O.T.E ...
I really like The Inner Most Limits Of Pure Fun ... its a classic ... with a great soundtrack ... I've often wondered if Alby drew some of his inspiration for M.O.T.E from this Greenough masterpiece.

Ok ... fair point ... in that case there is only one surfer that that age demographic could possibly relate to ... his move is titled The Occumentary ...chrisb wrote:Hey guys don't forget the original poster wanted surf movies suitable for 6-8 year olds.
That is unless the Wiggles do Waimea ...
