Johnno, I've heard of them a few times, at least in their old incarnation.
They aren't a real entity, they're like one of those crazy fellas who decides they don't want to pay tax so they declare that their farm isn't part of the country...

hope you get a good outcome.

Just another update on how corrupt the system is ......HOW DEVELOPERS GET APPROVAL FROM DoP - http://hughsaddleton.com.au/?p=2620#more-2620

Quote "There would appear to be a conflict of interest from this public servant. From this it can be taken that everything was done to walk this development over the line against the governments own guidelines."

farkin disgusting.
though when local councils and state governments depend on developer contributions, rates and land tax, and political donations for their income, when will it change?

"For the beach precinct in the South East corner of the site, Mr.
Ramiah acknowledged that the lots may straddle the Coastal Protection
7(a) zone so long as buildings were setback the required distance from
the Coastal Protection 7(a) Zone."

ummm, that would be the reason for the coastal protection zone, to provide a setback...

Just another update from Liz Dray yesterday ...... So who really is behind the proposed development of Lot 22.

There has been a threat made against the lives of two councillors actively protesting the development – source unknown at this stage. Earlier suggestions of financial ruin have been made to two other protesters. Sources – an investor sending a message of behalf of Peter Darby and Bilal Yassine off his own bat and later sending a message on behalf of Peter Darby.

Stephen Hosking has said he is a director of Sandy Shores Development Pty Ltd as is Peter Darby. There is also a hybrid trust – Sandy Shores Development Trust – part discretionary; part unit based. Sandy Shores Development Pty Ltd own Lot 22 either in its own right or as trustee of the Trust. Investors in the Trust; not sure but it appears these are local and others.

Supporters of the development – In the beginning (04/05) there was Charles Hill. He was very vocal at meetings and insisted quite clearly to some opposing the development “we will get what we want; you don’t stand a chance of opposing this development “. Charles Hill was Planning Workshop Australia a business owned by Lyneham Planning & Management Consultants Pty Ltd ($10 company) owned by WorleyParsons Infrastructure Holdings Pty Ltd ($2 company – same directors as Lyneham P & M Cons. P/L – shares are owned by WorleyParsons Limited (ASX listed company – international directors; over $239M shares). Patterson Britton & Partners Pty Ltd (from 20/1/2009 registered office WorleyParsons Services Pty Ltd); directors as for Lyneham P & M Cons. P/L; shares held by WorleyParsons Infrastructure Pty ltd); As an aside there are at least another 21 WorleyParsons registered Pty Ltd companies. Sydney NSW Property Consultants (business name first registered 21/6/06; ceased to operate 23/9/09) trading name for Sydney Accountants Pty Ltd as trustee for Yassine Holdings Discretionary Trust (director Bilal Yassine; $2 company); Bilal Yassine also director of Sydney Consultants Pty Ltd as trustee for Izal discretionary trust ($2 company) trading under name Landcorp Consultants (business name first registered 23/2/06 ceased 23/2/09).

And yes Sydney NSW Property Consultants Pty Ltd – the company named on the Concept approval signed off by Tony Kelly Minister for Planning and Development (has never existed).

Peter Darby in a conversation with one protester in Dec2010/Jan2011 said to the effect, “we are just a group of local families having a go”. Lot 22 was sold to Sandy Shores Developments for $2.5M. Then they purchased two houses in Pine Crescent (another $600K). Development documentation suggests a project cost of $12.5M. Then in a recent conversation with Ian Foskett, Bilal Yassine said to the effect, “if you want to stop the development then buy the land; the price is $75M”.
So I was just pondering on this group of local families just having a go!

So why have a planning dept at all as the process involved in this development application just shows than Tony Kelly and NSW Planning Dept are just puppets.

Passed all this onto a ACA producer, I am not sure if will help, it might be a bit too serious for them.

Johnno, guess you know about this already, but thought I'd post it anyway

"*Launch of the Save the Northern Beaches initiative*

With the very recent concept approval of 200 residential lots at Hearnes
Lake and suggestions of imminent concept approval of numerous houses in the
South Moonee Forest and at North Emerald Beach community concern over the
future of the Northern Beaches of Coffs Harbour is growing. The “Save the
Northern Beaches Alliance” will be launching its website and campaign
tomorrow (Tuesday 8 March) at 11am at the Diggers Beach carpark. The website
(www.savecoffscoast.com) has been developed by Mr Anthony Grupe of Abacus
Web Designs to create a forum for community collaboration to Save the
Northern Beaches greenbelts.

The “Save the Northern Beaches Alliance” has formed with the intention of
protecting important greenbelts at Hearnes Lake, North Emerald Beach and
South Moonee Forest from unsustainable urban sprawl. “The Northern Beaches
is defined by small coastal hamlets nestled within coastal greenbelts. These
greenbelts are the kidneys of our magnificent Solitary Islands Marine Park.
Residents and visitors benefit from these greenbelts; they protect quality
of life and make the Northern Beaches one of the most beautiful and diverse
places in the world” said Councillor Mark Graham, one of the co-founders of
the Alliance.

“With proposals for unbroken urban sprawl along the Northern Beaches
currently before the State Government for approval there is an urgent need
to save these important greenbelts for the benefit of current residents,
future generations and our all-important tourism industry” said Rod
McKelvey, co-founder of the Alliance.

‘We are calling on NSW Planning Minister Tony Kelly to prohibit development
at the South Moonee Forest and North Emerald Beach and to work with Coffs
Harbour City Council and the community to purchase these important coastal
icons under the Coastal Lands Protection Scheme. We are also calling on the
Roads and Traffic Authority to commit compensatory habitat funds to
purchasing these natural assets” said Ashley Love, co-founder of the
Alliance. “Coffs Harbour City Council must act in the public interest and
commit to appealing in the Land and Environment Court the concept approval
of 200 houses at Hearnes Lake. This land must be protected from residential
development in order to maintain the important wetlands and fisheries
nursery habitats in this greenbelt, as well as protecting current and future
residents from flooding impacts” said Mr Love.

A major community protest rally is to be staged at Emerald Beach at 11am on
Saturday 12 March at the Emerald Beach Carpark, Fiddaman Road."

Governments receiving contributions from any form of business completely destroys the entire concept of democracy.

All donations from businesses should be banned. All donations from individuals should be publicly listed within a week of receipt.

Rates and land tax, well, we have to have them in some form, but the fact is that approving more land developments just helps lazy and incompetent councils hide their incompetence.

It's a problem. :?

Thanks mate but yeah have contacted a lot of media outlets but only the local ones have run a story on it. Even though this development would show just how corrupt not only the minister is and his department is but also the system itself.
Seems the media in the big smoke is to scared to touch this one as it isn't as though they have covered their tracks to get this one through.............

Also thanks alakaboo for posting that link and a major community protest rally is to be held at Emerald Beach at 11am on Saturday 12 March at the Emerald Beach Carpark, Fiddaman Road. All welcome ......... :D

Just amazing that ICAC can bust a building inspector for favors to a brothel in Sydney but can't see a minister and his department doing favors for developers around the state ....

I guess Tony Kelly will have a few iou's to pick up if he losses office later this month.

Mostly because they are directly conflicted, either by directly or indirectly owning these companies, or by the connections with the advertising revenue.

Big business runs on the basis of favours and back scratching. All big businesses are connected.

If you think that the banks are in competition with each other, you haven't looked closely enough.

Yes, funny about that.

But the politicians made the laws that govern what ICAC can and cannot touch, and are responsible to, oh look at that  , the government.

Would not think that at all as I have had inside knowledge of how multinationals operate .........
Unfortunately they have become untouchable to any country or government.

Ah yes but the government is responsible to the people or should I say use to be but are now only responsible to Murdock  as the media feed the sheep as to which way they need to vote for a government.

Could the Lib's loose the unloose-able election ??????

Just to keep everyone that is interested in the loop we had a good turn out on Saturday at Emerald Beach and weight of numbers has now swung council. :D

COFFS Harbour City Council has announced after taking into account the community opposition and the legal advice received it has decided to commence legal proceedings in the Land and Environment Court against the NSW Minister for Planning (chaos)>>>> Tony Kelly.

The council is challenging the validity of the concept plan approval by the Minister for a 200-lot subdivision at Hearnes Lake through Class 4 proceedings, which involve a judicial review of the approval.

So hopefully we may have this mad development stopped and one other good thing is that the other proposed developments at Emerald Beach and South Moonee won't get the go ahead under the new guidelines that came into place as from the 22nd December 2010.

Thanks to all that helped with sending emails.

Cheers Johnno
