Toy, you're certainly passionate about what you do. Top marks there.

But I cannot help but think greed is creeping in here. And to use "surfing's greatness" as the reason to charge some poor cnut half a million big ones isnt doing you any favours.

Im sure as my arse points south that you are not owed half a million dollars worth of "free advice" to people about surfboards. C'mon mate.....keep er real.

Well a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do . . .

Thankyou for your comments Mr Fluff. The boards don't need testing. Of course it would be nice to send Steve an FP12 but I only have one at present, and it's MINE.

"You say you're taking the price way over the top, how did a value of $528 000 come about?
528 is a Solfeggio Frequency. 528 Hertz. I could've chosen many numbers but to eliminate a lot of possibilities I chose a number that is beneficial to people. (Solfeggio Frequencies are six sound frequencies used to heal."

I personally would have justified the price in terms of materials, design and labor hours, hinting to some sort of margin that you need, but hey :)

That's BS.

The boards are very carefully and brilliantly engineered structures.

One aspect of this is to use rough bandsawn wood instead of very accurately planed wood, as the glue joints are stronger that way.

A consequence of this is that we have wider and more variable glue joint width than is deemed to be acceptable by some. From a structural point of view that's a good thing. From an aeshetic point of view it's a matter of taste. Personally I prefer bold glue lines rather than invisible ones, I think that it's much more attractive as it accentuates the structure . . . . and it's an example of art following function .

You mentioned a list of errors. . . there is no such list.

I reckon a lambs wool lined board bag thrown in with a matching pair of moccasins may help get him to shift one of these ocean liners because watching Roy try to pilot them is hardly and exercise in grace and beauty: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qv0OGz7R ... re=related

Especially when compared to a longboarder like this bloke

Can you you justify the price tag? Break up the costs involved.

You know what, I think that someone who is happy to use that board to stand on it and go straight-ish to the beach is the most likely person to pay a huge sum for the art-work. If you work enough to have that kind of spare cash lying around to spend on a surfboard, I'm pretty sure you won't have had the time to build up the surfing skills to do much more than go straight-ish.

His marketing is clever there. If he gets his craft in front of some cashed-up celebs that like to make fashion statements (like extremely huge meticulously crafted wooden surfboards),maybe he has a market. I'd love to hear that he sold one of the boards, and I hope that he is able to divulge who bought it without any problems with their publicity manager :)

What other markets do you guys think are plausible?

Maybe the horribly rich corporate fat cat to place in his Noosa holiday mansion?
