MM, I got the Independent surf co 4/3 and I concur with your initial assessments.

Mine is now in second season, and it has relaxed a little.

I can no get out of it all by myself.

Nearly that time of year again. Looking for a new steamer. What steamers are people using this long, harsh winter.

I'm going back to Xcel for a steamer shortly.

My current Quikkie one is at the end of it's life with tears and it was the worst wettie I have had in years. Have a Xcel 1 mm top and a 2mm springie which are both great quality and warm.

Pleased to hear that. I haven't had one before. Waiting for it to get cool enough to wear it. I've got a Peak 1mm long sleave top. It's a bit restrictive.

I’m gonna get one of these.

Too cold for you BA but I had a 2/2 from them that has lasted 2 years and could use it again this year except the cat pissed on it. I’ll never buy a brand suit again.

Yeah I had a need suit a few years back. Didn’t like the fit. Definitely good value though.

I must have a weird body. Some suits fit me really well, others not so good.

Fair enough. There’s another mob from up here called the Independent Surf Company or something. I think Shearer reviewed one of their suits.

beany, xcel suits are still pretty good I reckon. Certainly plenty warm but maybe not quite the durability of pre-Billabong. Ridiculous prices too if you buy at full rrp

Same. Can’t take advantage of O’Neill warehouse for steamers, they just don’t fit me.

New steamer every year for me, but unlike realsurf I actually surf in Perth. So spend an inordinate amount of time paddling to keep fit for when the surf actually gets to two foot and I get to ride a wave.
Fixed that for you mate.
