Wetsuit repair help wanted
Does anyone have a proven wetsuit repair method? I've got a slight tear about 3cm in my springy and have tried an underwater pool adhesive. It didn't hold. I've heard caulking type waterproof sealer works.
Re: Wetsuit repair help wanted
I have used that tent seam sealer stuff (you get it camping shops) to fix small holes in wetties before, it doesn't look real flash but it lasts.

there's a product called "neo-rez" which is a specific wetsuit repair glue and sealer ... cut a piece of t-shirt material to cover the tear , on the inside of the wettie glue the patch over the tear then soak the patch in the glue , after it dries turn it back to the right side out and put a little glue in the tear and lay it flat so it closes and let it set ... you can lightly sand back any lumps but it dries soft like silicon ... you can get neo-rez from surfection stores but it's pretty well available in larger surf stores ...

Theres are few liquid sealents specfically for wetty repairs.
Its pretty easy to use just ensure the neoprene strips are glued on the inside (no joke you say) and be generous with the liquid neoprene to confirm a decent seal. Sweet.
Ok bit of a warning. Liquid neoprene contain a chemical called Toluene (the same chemical released when surfboard foam is burnt). Basically people think it may be cancer producing and can cause birth defects so be a bit careful using especially if you have young-uns scuttling around the workspace. Its horrible stuff. I made the mistake of driving around with my wetty freshly repairered and I was off my head accidentally cromeing and getting a free buzz and nasty head ache.

there is no need for, roof and gutter sealant, bitumen, liquid nails, caulking guns, no-more-gaps, epilation creams, sap from himalayan mountain roots, NASA heat tile glue as used on the space shuttle, grout, cement, concrete, mortar, flubber, expansion joint, toffee, caramalised balsanic onions, chilli jam, a reduction of tibetan yaks milk and yeti urine, or any other non wetsuit repair specific conconctions ...

Felt a bit of water coming in the back of my steamer yesterday. Found a small hole in the seal at the back of the shoulder. Anyone know what Turf is talking about above? I guessing a bit of glue will be the best solution. It's pretty small, but enough to let in water.

Try a place in taren point, called aqua something. Google it. They are cheap and do a good job. Bascially their business is wetsuit repairs and mods. Great service and quality repairs.

second beerfan - they do a great job. Have also used this: http://www.surfsailaustralia.com.au/sho ... uit+Repair
did the job on a seam on one of my steamers.

Thanks guys. It's a pretty small hole, so was hoping to fix it myself. Taren Point's a little far for such a small job.
Re: Wetsuit repair help wanted
just get some neorez, as the above posts mention
It's stretchy rubber cement.
Any proper surf shop should have it, should be under 10 bucks and will last you a lifetime.
Got a suit that was repaired 5 years ago and still going strong.
Up to you, and the size of the hole as to whether you need a patch, doesn't sound like it.
