Peak Climax Front Zip steamer?
With the weather getting colder and water temps about to drop to match, I'll be in the market for a new steamer although I really am finding it hard pressed to pay upwards of $550 for a wettie.
I was checking out the Peak Climax front Zip, and was wondering whether anyone has got one that could provide some feedback. You just don't see many around (even in the shops) and I'm not sure if that is for dodgy manufacturing reasons or just crap market penetration.

Re: Peak Climax Front Zip steamer?
they are basically a rc e-bomb c/zip from last year. 100% e2. still a quality suit. if you dont wanna spend much check out the RC dawn patrol, gbs and e3 where you need it, $299 reetail i think. chest zips are amazing though
Re: Peak Climax Front Zip steamer?
Great, thanks for that Lambert, I might give the peak one a go, it appears to be far better value then the billabong gBS for the same price. I just hope it doesn't fall apart!

Re: Peak Climax Front Zip steamer?
what do you mean getting colder, its still boardies weather here
no, Im not a surfer, Im just a garbage man".
Re: Peak Climax Front Zip steamer?
I suppose it would have to do with the transition from Autumn to winter, which of course means it will get progressively colder (hence the reason to start looking for a steamer, as apposed to starting to wear one).diggerdickson wrote:what do you mean getting colder, its still boardies weather here

I got a Dawn Patrol last month. Great wettie... lots of features from higher end wetsuits but at a middle of the road price. Highly recommend it.lambert wrote:they are basically a rc e-bomb c/zip from last year. 100% e2. still a quality suit. if you dont wanna spend much check out the RC dawn patrol, gbs and e3 where you need it, $299 reetail i think. chest zips are amazing though

How the quality though? I checked that outlet once and every wettie had a popped seam and looked to have had some degree of 'wear'. Basically seconds or pedantic returns from not too happy consumers.

Those factory outlets are gold. 3 years ago i bought a billabong springy from one on the goldie, 110 bucks, it was just last years model. Been using once or twice ( sometime thrice if im lucky ) a week, for most of the year. Still great. Last winter i ripped my steamer early on, so surfed most of winter in my springy, went well.
Re: Peak Climax Front Zip steamer?
I bought a Rip Curl because of the price but I wish I had dropped the extra 150 on a quality wetsuit as I had nothing but issues with it from day 1 and have been patching it up with neoprene ever since. Buy a West for 400 and you'll be sweet as.

never buy anything with a titanium lining from outlets, ive be told that bad batches can cause pretty hectic rashing/iritation

I bought the RC F Bomb about one year ago. Great stretch but I would have liked to have gone thicker neo. Paid approx $580 but it is a top unit. Also check into the Radiator Steamer from WA. They sell at approx 50% of our local retail price if you buy direct. ie at $328 Mike
Re: Peak Climax Front Zip steamer?
how/why the fk do hotline make double gbs seams- it kinda defeats the purpose of being a blind stich

Re: Peak Climax Front Zip steamer?
Hey.
I was asking this question here a month or so ago. Lots of ok cheap wetsuits around, but what i settled on was the latest Peak Energy steamer. 3/2, GBS seams, stretchy shoulders and arms, tough knee pads, reinforced seams in the rough wearing spots, warranty. The best suit I've owned and all for under $200.
Only problem is it's still too warm to wear it and it's too cold for my spring suit. :?

Re: Peak Climax Front Zip steamer?
Not sure about that actual wetsuit.. other than they are made by Ripcurl.
I am up for a new 4/3 this winter.. and unfortunately I am tallish, so finding a wetsuit that fits well proves to be quite difficult. I usually go for an O'Neill, but can't find my size anywhere! Hence, I am looking at an XCEL Infiniti (possibly Drylock) as they have my size - anyone had any experiences??
