Powering today! 6-8’ and a bit messy with the earlyish high tide bit still fun. Winter’s really catching on
Yeah winter is delivering. Was bigger than Tuesday today. Not just the waves but the whole sea was on the move. Lotta energy. Loved it!

Thats nice more waves for my new Maurice Cole 6'3" protow.
how's i was surfing some fun beachies. 3 foot, maybe four on the sets. and this guy set up a beach camera and pointed it straight at me. then, started doing dynamic Mick Fanning cutback motion stretches & snaps on the beach before paddling out.

he sat right in my armpit (on an empty beach full of peaks) he nodded and said g'day. at this precise moment i noticed he was wearing a mouthguard.

i've never been so rattled in my life. my head exploded with questions. i took off on the next 3 waves, and blew them all at the bottom turn stage of the wave. a feat i haven't achieved in about half a decade.

i'm still in a bit of crisis about it all, tbf ...halp me

he was as australian as you and me, brother. mid 30's. doing the full mick fanning preheat warmup and then proceeded to paddle up my inside every chance he got.

he was wearing a mouthguard, so i just kinda let him.

nah, he was completely harmless.

other than the core lord warm up routine and the camera, he was relatively normal.

Double overhead sets this morning, light offshore winds, seven at Outside Corner, two on the Bombie.

This is supposed to be a 4000kJ swell, its more like 3000kJ. Mid week is still forecast to be 14,000kJ. The Muzza swell three years ago was 5000kJ and was considered by the Ulus lifeguards to be the biggest swell since 1975... so this one is about three times more powerfull.

I'm just waiting on the turn of the tide to go out at my favourite break

does anyone else feel like firing up a flamethrower and going on a merciless killing spree every time cranked measures his waves in kilojoules?

Yes!

Every time Cranked measures in joules we should throw a baby boomer off a cliff.

But crabmeat, it gives you a much better idea of the power of the bigger swells where the swell height difference may jump just 20% but the equivalent kJ difference is 400%.
