Was still some good power to it this morning. Yesterday was really solid. Pumping morning.
Amazing how well those acute Sth swells ramp up here.

Yeah many of the points were firing this arvo. Shoulder is almost healed, so back in on the weekend. Hopefully with a new bonzer.

Good to hear about the shoulder.
Was it a bit of a sudden unexpected improvement?

Yes - thanks Buddy. It's been two months since i last surfed. I've been doing rehab for two weeks on the rotator cuff. The worst of it was the bicep tendonitis which developed as a result of shortening of all the muscles because of injury - like golfers or fighters elbow. Acupuncture has really helped all of it and he also worked on massaging out scar tissue. I honestly though i'd need surgery. I'll see how i go this weekend - still have weakness and movement issues, but i'll take it easy. I didn't think i'd be in the water two weeks ago

in other news, Barrinha just kicked the shit out of the Pool. I bet nobody predicted THAT. Best mens round one of the year. Free, unpredictable surfing, the way we know it to be. The two closing rides of JJF's and the Mongrel's in their rd 1 heat obliterated anything done last weekend in Lemoore.

Plus there's heat in a CT that just isn't present in a semi faked up "national teams" gig. Actually there's more heat in this CT than in any of the three Aussie ones. Maybe the Margies thing then the Pool has fired everyone up a bit.

Cronulla point again. Less size, punch and consistency than yesterday. Surfed a 6’3 thruster. It was fun, but on points and reefs still prefer the Cadillac feel of a longer rail line to push off and one fin. Just one thank you.

I rode my bonzer last 3 days.
First day felt cuckoo crazy then the last 2 just deluxe.

There's a point when you have a wall in front of you and you put the board up there and it just...... lets go.
It felt so good today.

when's the last time you surfed a thruster out at the point steve? betting a long while. i've gotten to the point that i only like them in beachbreaks, or sectioning and uneven waves. they just feel like noise to me on a walled up point or reef.

no, just riding different boards.

Soon as I saw those offshore stretched out walls Sunday my mind snapped back to bonzers.

You definitely have more versatility and variety in your turn angles with a thruster but there is something marvellously freeing about that single fin/bonzer feeling at a certain speed.

Just watched the highlights. Best Brazil event I can remember. Watching this wave just highlights how ridiculously boring the pool is.
