see, that's kinda what led me back down to kiddies corner with the softie again just now. i knew it was smaller and less consistent than yesty arvo, but on such a glorious day...
and with equal amount of girls as guys. 'cept ALL the girls are in bikinis ... slobber slobber... why not?

(yeah sure, i'd have driven to the south coast if i had the wlll Iggs, but i'm sick of driving.)

it is friday the thirteenth, and;

my heart is , like , really racing right now coz an evil fcuken local highway patrol cop, notorious for busting local cyclists, and who I'd seen busting a woman earlier this morning near bondi public for not wearing a helmet, came after me as i crossed over from the Nth bondi surf club to ride up Ramsgate ave, which is one way up, and i hear the 'woo woo' of his siren behind me, look over my shoulder as he's, like, seriously frothing to nail me, and so i think, fcuk this, i don't need another fcuking infringement * and so i hop off, awkwardly , with the board under arm, anticipated ditching it, but held on and walk it over to the footpath, and he's getting out of his squad car, and i get back on and peddle the fcuk back down on the footpath as he gets back in his car and, well, i thought, no way this cnuts gonna back down a one way single lane street... and I hightail it back home via the narrowest nearby street allowing for another escape plan should he have scoured them to come back at me. It's the second time he's come after me, the last I did the same runner back down a one way street against traffic. I suspect my description is all over their comms.
and on Australia's Most Wanted next season.

* who here knows when their driver's licence expires? without looking at it.
I didn't recieve my renewal notice a couple of months ago, and got pulled over and fined for an expired one...three weeks expired.
pleaded for leniency, nah. cop it sunshine.
requested a review from SDRO, nah. cop it sweetchops.
$549. fine!

Why dont you just not break the law Skip....

because the law is an Ass, loofs. if it don't hurt anyone, i do what i please, so why observe it.
though, if I'd know my licence had expired, of course i would have renewed it. i respect that. as most issues which affect my fellow hoomons.
me riding without a helmet, just down to beach or the shops? well, that's where the law is fcuking stoopid.
i always wear one when commuting beyond the valley.

You're setting a bad example for young kids whose parents might be trying to convince them to wear a helmet..

I’m with ya Skip. I ride to the beach without a helmet. Maybe 2-3 minute ride. There’s no way to secure it if you do take one anyway. If I was riding any further, sure, I’d wear one.

And my wife’s a cop.

Actually, I was serious.
A few years ago I was stopped at a Don't Walk sign. A mother and preschooler beside me. Guy in his 20s walked up then darted across the road between the moving cars.
Kid said to his mum, "If he can go, why can't we?"
Made me think about how anything I do can be seen poorly by kids.

Yeah, AJ.....just be philosophical about it. I'm continually confronting my limitations with take offs these days.
Yep. Getting to my feet in a hurry doesn't happen.
Lately I've been surfing Noosa a bit and you REALLY need to pop up quickly there.
Forcing myself to do so has worked a bit.
No problem Trev, just do 200 popups/day for 6 months. You'll be faster to your feet than most 30 year-olds.
Doesn't help a lot if you have Peripheral Sensory Neuropathy.
Sorry to hear that Trev.

Onya Skip. Plenty of bigger jobs they should be focused on than bike helmets.
