I think he is saying it is. A little funny in the tenses, but I'm assuming that is because his first language is Russian. Cranked will be able to tell us.

“This morning a bomb fell on Uluwatu, the guys in the collaboration decided to weaken on the big waves: the Russian bigwaver Andrey Ovchinnikov @dolphinsurfandrei and the Brazilian Eloy Lorenzo @eloylorenzojunior ,arranged a powerful tau-surfing (dispersed each other on the jet) on the spot, well, I managed to shoot a few shots of that day on camera. Support the guys 👍 it was the day that will remain in the history of this spot, and the Russian bigwave riding 💪Respect guys, you're have really big balls...all photography @alexander_vasiliev_”

Crazy! The other pics look like it. Just that the dude is wearing a full steamer.

Day of days today. Carnage everywhere

I'm not sure. That vid I just posted was the first tow in of the four I'm pretty sure.
I was confused about the tow in this morning as it seemed to be different surfers to me at the time. So they swapped. I don't recall a wetsuit, but its so far out to sea its not impossible... for float and protection?

OK, thanks buddy. Its all clear now. That was the first of the four tow ins. He's not wearing a wetsuit in the vid. It was shot by Joc who I spoke to for a while at about 6am that morning.

Is the still photoshoped?

I spoke to a few other people, they were calling it 30' on the sets, 35' on some rarer ones. I'd agree with that.

Pause the swellnet vid at 1:51 when the bloke is standing upright and you can quite clearly work out that it's a 30 foot (actual feet) wave. Surely your nothing-but-the-whole-measured-truth approach means you don't have to 'call' it and 'opinions' don't come into it. Or have you now started using a different scale?

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

Firstly, pretty sure he wasn't wearing a steamer.

I'm also pretty sure he caught just that first tow in wave only.

Everything about his wave - the speed, length of ride, wave size, his complete domination of the wave for its entirety (2-3k?), his balls out audacity, was breath-taking in that confident audacity.

It was all so sudden, the disbelief, then the spontanious eruption of cheers and screams from every person in the 50 plus gallery was amazing.

That's a memory everyone there that day will keep forever, one of the greatest moments in surfing history.

How's that? Over wrought, overblown... but oh so true.

I'm still buzzing.

Two of the other three tow ins were also amazing beyond belief.

Same size as the first, but the rider (german/brazilian who's name I forget) pulled into a huge, huge barrell on each when he hit the outside peak section, he made one, the other shut down. Both rides all time hall of fame.

Unfortunately none of the paddle in waves compared, their speed on the face was seemingly so much slower. Heros each and every one of them though.
