I like onshore winds when the swell is chunky overhead and straight out of the east. From the beach it looks a mess overall and keeps the crowds away. But in reality the faces are pretty clean and there's always wedging bowls running

Hey Iggy, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you confess to surfing SEQ for 20 years. Now seeing as South East Queensland is a rather large parcel of land, Would you consider it rude if we asked where were you based during this time ?

Hauled my ass out of bed before dawn for a quick surf before work. Small and closing out a lot, but sitting there with the sun rising through the low cloud and a pod of dolphins for company was pretty cool.

And I had a bowl of weetbix afterwards

Yes. Brisbane based. Which meant driving 45min + to get to the beach. But it also gave the option of Sunshine Coast, north straddie, Gold Coast, tweed, or Byron if in the mood, or Ballina if the south swells were on. Lots of driving, but also lots of scoping out the entire stretch. ;) Also lived on the goldy for a few years, but would prefer Sunshine Coast over it as a place to live.

Friends of mine recently moved to that island.
Guess you're used to driving for hours to score a wave.

Took the day off work since I was still adjusting to using this nasal spray to get rid of my cough. Decided to help matters by going for a paddle on the minimal.....whoops....core midlength. Options were grim and the missus had decided to have one of her annual attempts to bodyboard.
Actually saw a little bank running into the flags. Got three or four okay ones and one good one that lived up to my expectations for the bank. Apparently this impressed every other dweeb in the area because it suddenly went from...me.....to me and eight other people scrambling for the one set wave in every second or third set that broke properly.....time to go in. Lovely day. Kick arse chicken, avo, pepper sauce and lettuce roll for lunch at home. Fcuk working.

Thanks Trev. They are quite respectable......unlike some of my friends. There's even weird ones who live on the Sunshine Coast. It's a hotbed of craziness I hear. The old surfers are the worst.

I didn't lie you boring hippy, I came clean two posts later when it became apparent someone actually may have taken it seriously. Womble was baiting for the Brisbane answer (because he thinks it matters) so I threw him some table scraps.

Yeah. Sorry. Wasn't directed at your friends.
My daughter has a bit to do with the bay islands. Got some stories to tell.

On the contrary, dear Ignatius. In actual fact I consider this fact to hold little sway whatsoever when used as leverage in a discussion about surfing.
What I can't understand, and its the reason why I very rarely get involved in conversations with you, is why you constantly play the man and not the ball. RUOK ?
